Terms of Service

Last updated: September 5, 2026

The plain-language terms for using the free, browser-local audio tools on abackaudio.com.

Welcome to Aback Audio. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and tools. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Tools run on your device

The Service provides client-side software. You supply the audio; your device performs the processing.

No uploads

The Service has no upload pipeline and never stores your audio files.

Free to use

Core tools are free and do not require an account. The Service is supported by advertising.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using abackaudio.com, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

Aback Audio is a static web application offering audio utilities, including compression, conversion, cutting, and merging, that execute locally in your browser. The service is delivered from Cloudflare Pages and performs no server-side audio processing.

3. Ownership

Your audio files are yours. Because processing is local, you retain full ownership of your content and we never copy, store, or distribute it. The Service's software, design, and text are owned by Aback Audio and protected by applicable law; you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use them.

4. Permitted and prohibited uses

You may use the tools for lawful purposes, including commercial work. You may not:

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source of our codec assets
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service or probe its infrastructure
  • Misrepresent the Service as performing server-side processing
  • Use the Service to process content you have no right to process

5. Your responsibilities & backups

You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Because processing happens in your browser's memory, closing the tab or reloading the page clears any in-progress work. We recommend processing copies rather than originals until you have verified your output.

6. Acceptable quality expectations

Output quality depends on the codec, settings, and your browser. Lossy formats (MP3, OGG) remove information by design; lossless formats (FLAC, PCM WAV) preserve samples. Each tool states whether its output is lossless or lossy, and we do not claim otherwise.

Very large files may exceed your device's memory; the tools warn you in advance rather than failing silently.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that outputs will meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aback Audio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Because your files never leave your device, our liability exposure is limited to the availability and correctness of the software itself.

9. Third-party content & advertising

The Service may display advertising and link to third-party websites. Advertisers and linked sites have their own privacy practices and terms, which we do not control. Ad networks never receive your audio or file metadata.

10. Changes to the service and terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool at any time, and we may revise these Terms. The latest version always appears on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Contact & legal inquiries

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the contact page.

Terms questions

Can I use Aback Audio for commercial projects?

Yes. You may process audio for commercial use, including paid client work. Output files are yours.

Is there a file-size or usage limit?

There are no account limits on the number of files. Practical limits come from your device's memory, and the tools warn you when a file is unusually large.

Do I need to credit Aback Audio?

No credit is required for output files. The tools themselves are provided for your use under these Terms.

What if a tool produces a corrupt file?

We treat correctness seriously. Please report it via the contact page with your browser version and settings, and we will investigate. We recommend verifying output on important work.

Can you access files I processed last week?

No. Files are never transmitted to us, and we operate no storage, history, or project sync. Local browser state only holds preferences.

Which browsers are supported?

We target current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Codec availability varies by browser and is detected at runtime.
