The browser is the compute layer

Aback Audio ships audio-processing capabilities to your browser. Decoding runs on Web Audio, and encoding runs on local WASM codecs, so your recordings, voice notes, and music never reach our servers.

Local decoding

Files are parsed and decoded in your browser with the native Web Audio API and local parsers. Nothing is streamed to a queue or processing farm.

Local encoding

MP3, OGG, and FLAC encoding run on WASM codecs loaded into your tab. The output is assembled on your device and offered as a download.

No account, no upload

There is no upload endpoint, no object storage, and no account required. You can verify this in your browser's network inspector while any tool runs.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know about private, browser-native audio processing.

Are the audio tools really free?

Yes. Every Aback Audio tool is free with no watermarks and no account. The site is supported by unobtrusive advertising that never touches your audio.

How do I know my audio isn't uploaded?

The tools run entirely on your device. You can open your browser's developer tools → Network tab while processing and confirm that no request carries your file.

Which formats can I convert?

You can read WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, and M4A/AAC and write WAV, MP3, FLAC, and OGG, with quality, sample rate, and channel controls where the codec supports them.

Does compressing WAV to MP3 lose quality?

MP3 and OGG are lossy codecs and discard some audio detail. FLAC and PCM WAV are lossless. Every tool states whether your selected output is lossless or lossy.

Can I cut and merge audio too?

Yes. The Audio Cutter trims any supported file to exact start/end times, and the Audio Merger combines up to 24 clips while normalising sample rates automatically.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The tools are touch-friendly and memory-aware, and processing runs locally on mobile Safari and Chrome just as it does on desktop.
